How to play

Solitaire is a single player card game. The goal is to move all the cards into the suit piles.

Move cards into columns

You can pick up cards and move them into columns, like this

A column of cards in Solitaire

Two rules must be followed when doing this:

  • The cards must be in descending order, with no gaps. Like we have here: Jack -> 10 -> 9 -> 8 then 7.
  • They must alternate red and black suits.

If you try to move a card that isn't allowed, the game won't let you.

Flipping over the back facing cards

When you move enough cards to expose a back facing card, it will get flipped up.

Move cards to the suit piles

Cards can be moved to the suit piles in ascending order, starting with aces. First move the ace of spades, then the two of spades on top of it, and so on.

Be careful! Once a card has been moved to an ace pile, it can not be moved back to the playfield.

Fill empty columns with Kings

An empty column can be filled with a King.

Drawing cards

You can draw a card from the deck whenever you want. Move it to the columns or suit piles just like any other card. If the deck runs out, you can flip it over to refill it.

Winning

You win when the entire deck has been moved to the suit piles. In E-Reader Solitaire, you only need to flip up all back facing cards and empty the deck to win. Moving the remaining cards to the suit piles would be tedious and isn't necessary.

Losing

If you can not make any more moves, then the game has been lost. E-Reader Solitaire won't tell you that you have lost. If it seems hopeless, hold the R button down for a couple seconds to start a new game. This happens pretty often, there is a lot of luck needed to win in Solitaire.
